In the Contemplation stage, he/she acknowledges that there is a problem and they begin to think about their behavior to overcome the problem. At this point they are not completely ready to make the change, but begin to look at the good and bad of their behavior and the changes needed to be made. They may remain in this stage for a long period of time but they will be mentally starting to make a plan to make some changes and eventually they will follow through with actually changing their problem.
