Wellness has seven dimensions: Physical, emotional, intellectual/mental, social, environmental, occupational, and spiritual. The dimensions are interrelated: If a person is lacking in one dimension, it will carry over to the others. For example, if a person is emotionally upset due to having a bad day persay, they will be less likely to want to exercise, hang out with friends, get any work done, etc. Wellness incorporates factors such as fitness, nutrition, stress management, disease prevention, spirituality, not abusing drugs/alcohol/tobacco, personal safety, yearly physical exams, keeping educated on health, and environmental support.
